China's nickel cathode output falls 3.5% in August

Beijing, Sep. 11(Antaike)-The output of China's nickel cathode fell by 520 tons or 3.5% to 14,260 tons m-o-m in August, rising by 1,864 tons or 15.0% y-o-y, Antaike informed on Tuesday.

Of which the output of Jinchuan Group Co., Ltd. declined 500 tons to 12,500 tons owing to maintenance and it is expected to further drop in September, the output of Xinjiang Xinxin Mining Industry Co., Ltd. resumed to 1,160 tons compared to the previous month's growth of 730 tons after the end of overhaul; the output of Ji'en Nickel Industry Co., Ltd. steadily stood at 500 tons, the output of Yantai Cash Industry Co., Ltd. achieved 150 tons, keeping flat over last month, and Tianjin Maolian Technology Co., Ltd. stopped production briefly.

During Jan.-Aug of 2020, China's nickel cathode output accumulated to 112kt, with a gain of 9.2% year-on-year. Antaike predicts the output will slightly shrink to 13,750 tons in September.
